‘নিরাপদ ইন্টারনেট’ গোলটেবিল বৈঠক

শনিবার বিকালে রাজধানীর রেডিসন হোটেলের ‘নিরাপদ ইন্টারনেট’ শিরোনামে বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকমের প্রধান সম্পাদক তৌফিক ইমরোজ খালিদীর সঞ্চালনায় এ গোলটেবিলে ইন্টারনেট দুনিয়ায় নিরাপদ থাকা, নিরাপত্তা ঝুঁকি, সমস্যার সমাধানের উপায়, বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি ও ভবিষ্যত করণীয় বিষয়ে আলোচনা হয়।

নিরাপদ ইন্টারনেটের জন্য ইন্টারনেট সেফটি সলিউশান (আইএসএস) প্রযুক্তি আনার পাশাপাশি এজন্য প্রয়োজনীয় বিনিয়োগেরও আশ্বাস মিলেছে এক গোলটেবিল আলোচনায় এ আশ্বাস দেন দুই প্রতিমন্ত্রী।

নিরাপদ ইন্টারনেট গড়তে সামর্থ্যর ঘাটতি পূরণে নীতিগতভাবে অবস্থান কী বা কত দ্রুত বিষয়টি সমাধান হচ্ছে- তা জানতে চাওয়া হয়েছিল ডাক ও টেলিযোগাযোগ প্রতিমন্ত্রী তারানা হালিমের কাছে।

জবাবে প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আমরা ভালো টিম ওয়ার্ক গড়ে তুলতে চাই, দুটি মন্ত্রণালয় এবং আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী একসাথে কাজ করলে অনেকটাই দমন করা সম্ভব।

“বিটিআরসিতে ইতোমধ্যে বাংলাদেশ কম্পিউটার ইনসিডেন্ট রেসপন্স টিম রয়েছে। কোনো অভিযোগ এলে আমরা ই-মেইল করে জানাচ্ছি- তোমাদের ফেইসবুক টুইটারের মাধ্যমে এসব ক্রাইম হচ্ছে। তবে তাদের সাথে কোনো চুক্তি না থাকাতে তারা তা আমলে নিচ্ছে না। অনেক ক্ষেত্রে আইআইজিকে এসব কন্ট্রোল করতে বলা হয়।”

তারানা হালিম বলেন, “সমস্যা সমাধানে অতি দ্রুত আইএসএস বা ইন্টারনেট সেফটি সলিউশান কার্যক্রম দেশে আনার ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করছি।

“এর মাধ্যমে ইন্টারনেট ওয়েব পোর্টাল কনটেন্ট ও অ্যাপ্লিকেশন মনিটরিং ও ফিল্টারিংয়ের মাধ্যমে অপরাধ অনেকটা প্রতিরোধ করতে পারবো এবং সঠিক ইনফরমেশন ও সোর্স আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীকে জানাতে পারবো।”

তবে আইএসএস কীভাবে কাজ করবে ‘নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে’ তার বিস্তারিত জানাননি তারানা।

এর কারণ হিসেবে প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, “যারা সাইবার ক্রাইম করেন তারা আমাদের চেয়ে একধাপ এগিয়ে চলে। কারণ আমরা চাই না তারা এ বিষয়ে জানুক।”

আর ইন্টারনেটকে নিরাপদ করতে প্রয়োজনীয় বিনিয়োগের আশ্বাস দেন তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি প্রতিমন্ত্রী জুনাইদ আহমেদ পলক।

তিনি বলেন, “বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা হয়েছে নিরাপদ ইন্টারনেট। ইন্টারনেটকে নিরাপদ করতে যে পরিমাণ বিনিয়োগ প্রয়োজন সে পরিমাণ বিনিয়োগ আমরা করব।

“আমরা আমাদের দেশের পুরো ইকোনমিকে লেবার ইনটেনসিভ থেকে আইসিটি বেইজড ইকোনমিতে ট্রান্সফার করছি। ইন্টারনেটকে নিরাপদ করতে বিনিয়োগ করতে আমরা দুঃশ্চিন্তাগ্রস্ত নই, আমরা ডিজিটাল সাইবার সিকিউরিটি ল ড্রাফট করছি এবং ডিজিটাল ফরেনসিক ল্যাব করব।”

“সাইবার ক্রিমিনাল যদি ধরতে চাই, তাহলে ডিজিটাল ফরেনসিক ল্যাবে তা ট্র্যাক ডাউন করে ধরতে পারব কোন ডিভাইস ব্যবহার করে কত ঘণ্টা আগে এ কাজটা করা হয়েছে।”

রেডিসনের এই অনুষ্ঠানটি একাত্তর টেলিভিশন ও বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকমের ওয়েবসাইটে সরাসরি দেখানো হয়। 

তথ্য প্রযুক্তির বিকাশের সঙ্গে গত কয়েক বছরের বাংলাদেশে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীর সংখ্যা বেড়েছে কয়েকগুণ।

বিটিআরসির হিসাবে, চলতি বছর জুন মাস পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশে মোবাইল ইন্টারনেটের গ্রাহক সংখ্যা ৪ কোটি ৬৮ লাখ ৯৯ হাজার। গত এক বছরে মোবাইল ফোনে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীর সংখ্যা বেড়েছে ১ কোটি ৪ লাখ ৮৭ হাজার।

আর চলতি বছর জুন নাগাদ মোট ইন্টারনেট গ্রাহক সংখ্যা ৪ কোটি ৮৩ লাখ ৪৭ হাজার ছিল বলে বিটিআরসির হিসাব।

আলোচনায় নিয়ন্ত্রণ সংস্থা বিটিআরসি সিস্টেম অ্যান্ড সার্ভিসেস বিভাগ মহাপরিচালক ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল মো. এমদাদ উল বারী ইন্টারনেট নিরাপত্তায় সমস্যার কথা তুলে ধরেন।

“দেশের জনগণের ৩২ শতাংশ ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করে থাকে। এর  ৯৭% ব্যবহার করে মোবাইল ইন্টারনেটের মাধ্যমে এবং বাকিরা আইএসপি এর মাধ্যমে।

“আমরা ইন্টারনেট প্রটোকলের যে ভার্সনটা ব্যবহার করি সেটি আইপিভি ফোর, এর যে সীমাবদ্ধতা রয়েছে সারা বিশ্বে যতগুলো আইএসপি সংখ্যা তৈরি করতে পারে আমাদের বিশ্বের প্রয়োজন এর চেয়ে বেশি।”

“যার ফলে আমাদের দেশের ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীর একটি বড় অংশ কোনো রিয়েল আইপি ব্যবহার করেন না। তাদেরকে একটি রিয়েল আইপি থেকে অনেকগুলো প্রাইভেট আইপি তৈরি করে দেওয়া হয়। সমস্যা হয় দেশের ভেতরে আমরা রিয়েল আইপি পর্যন্ত ট্র্যাক করতে পারি। তবে দেশের বাইরে যখন হয় তখন তা শনাক্ত করা সম্ভব হয় না।”

এমদাদ উল বারী বলেন, “…বিশেষ করে সুনামখ্যাত সামাজিক মাধ্যমগুলো থেকে হলে আইপি সহযোগিতা পাই না।”

প্রকৃত আইপি চিহ্নিত করা গেলে অপরাধ শনাক্ত করা সম্ভব কি না জানতে চাওয়া হয়েছিল র‌্যাবের মহাপরিচালক বেনজীর আহমেদের কাছে।

তিনি বলেন, “এই মুহূর্তে আমরা পর্যায়ক্রমে পূর্ণাঙ্গ সোসাইটির দিকে অগ্রসর হচ্ছি। এর অনেক ভালো দিক আছে, খারাপ দিকও আছে। এসব বিষয়ে কোথায় সাহায্য পাওয়া যাবে এ ধরনের ধারণা নেই- এটি খুবই হতাশাজনক।

“বাংলাদেশে এই ধরনের অপকর্ম রোধে ভাল আইন রয়েছে। আইসিটি অ্যাক্ট খুবই ভালো আইন। এ আইনে যে কেউ সহযোগিতা চাইতে পারেন, তাকে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সহযোগিতা নিতে হবে। সমস্যা হচ্ছে অনেক সময় চিহ্নিত করা কঠিন হয়ে যায়।”

বৈঠকে আলোচক প্যানেলে অন্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন নর্থ সাউথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক ও গবেষক নোভা আহমেদ এবং জাতিসংঘ শিশু তহবিলের বিভাগীয় প্রধান (যোগাযোগ, প্রচার ও প্রচারণা) সীমা ইসলাম।

সিরাজগঞ্জের জামতৈল ট্রেনে কাটা পড়ে অজ্ঞাত ব্যক্তির লাশ উদ্ধার

সিরাজগঞ্জের কামারখন্দ উপজেলার জামতৈল ষ্টেশন এলাকায় ট্রেনে কাটা পড়ে অজ্ঞাত এক ব্যক্তি নিহত হয়েছে।

পুলিশ জানায়, ঢাকা থেকে সুন্দরবন এক্সপ্রেসের একটি ট্রেন রাজশাহী যাচ্ছিলো। বুধবার রাত ৭টায় ট্রেনটি জামতৈল ষ্টেশন এলাকায় পৌছলে অজ্ঞাত ঐ ব্যক্তি ট্রেনে কাটা পড়ে নিহত হয়। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌছে নিহতের লাশ উদ্ধার করে সিরাজগঞ্জ জেনারেল হাসপাতাল মর্গে প্রেরন করেছে।

কামারখন্দ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) বাবুল উদ্দিন সরকার জানান ট্রেনে কাটা পড়ে একজন নিহত হওয়ার ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে জানান এব্যাপারে রেলওয়ে থানার ওসিকে অবগত করা হয়েছে।

সিরাজগঞ্জ জিআরপি থানার উপ-পরিদর্শক (এসআই) হায়দার আলী ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন।

সিরাজগঞ্জ শহররক্ষা বাঁধ এলাকা পরিদর্শন করেছেন যুক্তরাজ্য, নাইজেরিয়া, মালয়েশিয়া, তানজেনিয়া, শ্রীলঙ্কা ও বাংলাদেশের সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট মন্ত্রণালয়ের ২১ সদস্যের যৌথ প্রতিনিধিদল।

মঙ্গলবার (১০ মার্চ) বেলা ১১টার দিকে বাঁধ এলাকা পরিদর্শন শেষে পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ড আয়োজিত একটি কর্মশালায় যোগ দেন তারা।

প্রতিনিধিদলটির নেতৃত্বে দেন বাংলাদেশ ন্যাশনাল স্টাফ কলেজের লে. জেনারেল চৌধুরী হোসেন সারওয়ার্দী ও সংস্থাপন মন্ত্রণালয়ের যুগ্ম সচিব নুর জাহান বেগম।

কর্মশালায় পাউবোর রাজশাহী অঞ্চলের প্রধান প্রকৌশলী আমিনুল ইসলাম, বগুড়া অঞ্চলের তত্বাবধায়ক প্রকৌশলী মমতাজ উদ্দিন উদ্দিন এবং ঢাকার ডিজাইন শাখার তত্ত্বাবধায়ক প্রকৌশলী মোতাহার হোসেন পাউবোর পক্ষ থেকে যমুনার পশ্চিম পাড়ে ভাঙন, অকালবন্যা এবং জলবায়ুর প্রভাব নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন।

এ সময় বাংলাদেশের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলের শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা, এনজিও প্রতিষ্ঠানের কাজ এবং স্থানীয় সরকার ব্যবস্থা বিষয়েও আলোচনা হয়।

Preset Manual (Nikon) or Custom white balance (Canon) setting to get colour spot on.

Your camera’s Auto white balance setting is great for general subjects, but strong colours can fool it. It can also be difficult to match the white balance presets to the conditions you’re shooting in. In these situations, you can use a Preset Manual (Nikon) or Custom white balance (Canon) setting to get colour spot on.

Shoot an image of a white or grey subject (a piece of card or paper) in the same lighting as your subject and the camera then uses the colours in this image to get the white balance right (for more, see how to get spot on white balance using a colour chart).

Because this white balance is then fixed, this technique is only suitable for shooting in consistent light. If the light changes, you need to go through the whole process again.

Creating a custom white balance setting will save you time when you’re editing your shots, and also enables you to more accurately assess the colours when you review the images on your camera’s rear LCD screen.

How to set custom white balance

Step 1: Position the cardTo get the most accurate colours, position a piece of white or neutral grey card or paper so that it is in the same lighting as your subject. For the best results, place the card where your subject will be, and make sure that it is facing where you are going to be shooting from.

Step 2: Shoot the card
Now fill the frame with the card and take a picture of it from the same direction as you will be taking your main shot. The exposure of this reference image isn’t critical, as long as the picture isn’t completely over- or under-exposed. You may need to switch to manual focus.

Step 3: Delve into the menu
Now you need to navigate to your camera’s shooting menu and find the list of white balance settings. To do this on a Nikon, scroll down to the white balance settings and then select Preset Manual; on a Canon, simply select Custom White Balance from the list of options that appears.

Step 4: Set the white balance
Select the picture of the card to set this as the white balance reference image. On a Nikon, press OK twice to set the white balance, while on a Canon you need to first press Set to select the image, then go back to the white balance settings and select Custom from the list.

বর্তমানে শুধু যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ‘লিগাসি কন্টাক্ট’ ফিচারটি ব্যবহার করা যাচ্ছে, তবে পরবর্তীতে সব ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারীরা এই সুবিধা পেতে পারেন। এই ফিচারটি ব্যবহার করে উত্তরাধিকারী নির্বাচন করে রাখলে ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারীর মৃত্যুর পর ওই অ্যাকাউন্টের মালিকানা পাবেন তিনি। মনোনীত ব্যক্তি ফেসবুক অ্যাকাউন্ট মুছে ফেলার বা সচল রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারবেন। তবে মনোনীত ব্যক্তি ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারীর পূর্বের প্রকাশিত কোনো পোস্ট পরিবর্তন করা বা পুরোনো বার্তাগুলো আর দেখতে পারবেন না।

উত্তরাধিকার সূত্রে পাওয়া ফেসবুক অ্যাকাউন্ট ব্যবহার করে প্রোফাইলের ছবি ও কভারের ছবি হালনাগাদ করা যাবে, নতুন বন্ধুর আমন্ত্রণ গ্রহণ করা যাবে এবং পোস্ট লেখা যাবে। ছবি ও পোস্ট আর্কাইভ থেকে তা ডাউনলোড ও তথ্য বিনিময় করা যাবে।

এই ফিচারটি সম্পর্কে ফেসবুক কর্তৃপক্ষ জানিয়েছে, 'যখন কোনো মানুষ পৃথিবী ছেড়ে যান তার অ্যাকাউন্টটিই যাপিত জীবন, বন্ধুত্ব ও অভিজ্ঞতার স্মরণিকা হয়ে থাকে। প্রিয়জন হারানো মানুষের সঙ্গে আমরা আলোচনা করে বুঝেছি তাদের ওই কষ্টকর অবস্থায় আমরা আরও খানিকটা পাশে থাকতে পারি এবং অ্যাকাউন্টের মালিকানা বুঝিয়ে দিতে পারি যাতে তারাই অ্যাকাউন্ট বিষয়ে সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারেন।'

লিগাসি কন্টাক্ট ব্যবহার করতে সেটিংস থেকে সিকিউরিটিতে যেতে হবে এবং সেখানে সবার নিচে এই ফিচারটি পাওয়া যাবে।

শর্টকাট ভাইরাস থেকে স্থায়ী মুক্তির সহজ উপায়

হঠাৎ করে দেখলেন কম্পিউটার শর্টকাট ফাইল-ফোল্ডারে ভরে গেছে। বারবার ডিলিট করেও এ থেকে মুক্তি মিলছে না। হুটহাট অনেক ফাইল-ফোল্ডার হারিয়েও যাচ্ছে। ইদানীং এই সমস্যায় প্রায় সবাই পড়ছেন। এটি কোনো ভাইরাস নয়। এ হলো VBS Script (ভিজুয়াল বেসিক স্ক্রিপ্ট)। এ যন্ত্রণা থেকে খুব সহজেই মুক্তি পেতে পারেন। নিচের ধাপগুলো অনুসরণ করুন।

CMD ব্যবহার করে

১. ওপেন CMD (Command Prompt – DOS)
২. নিচের কমান্ডটি হুবহু লিখুন
attrib -h -s -r -a /s /d Name_drive:*.*
এবার Name_drive লেখাটিতে যে ড্রাইভটি আপনি শর্টকাট ভাইরাসমুক্ত করতে চান সেটি লিখুন। যেমন: C ড্রাইভ ভাইরাসমুক্ত করতে চাইলে লিখুন attrib -h -s -r -a /s /d c:*.*
৩. এন্টার বাটন চাপুন
৪. এবার দেখবেন শর্টকাট ভাইরাস ফাইল ও ফোল্ডারগুলো স্বাভাবিক হয়ে যাবে। এবার ওই ফাইল ও ফোল্ডারগুলো ডিলিট করে দিন।

.bat ব্যবহার করে
Bat ফাইল হলো নোটপ্যাডে লেখা একটি একজেকিউটেবল ফাইল। এতে ডাবল ক্লিক করলেই চালু হয়ে যায়।
১. নোটপ্যাড ওপেন করুন।
২. নিচের কোডটি হুবহু কপি-পেস্ট করুন

attrib -h -s -r -a /s /d Name_Drive:*.*
attrib -h -s -r -a /s /d Name_Drive:*.*
attrib -h -s -r -a /s /d Name_Drive:*.*
@echo complete.

৩. এবার Name_Drive এর জায়গায় ভাইরাস আক্রান্ত ড্রাইভের নাম লিখুন। যদি তিনটির বেশি ড্রাইভ আক্রান্ত হয় তাহলে কমান্ডটি শুধু কপি-পেস্ট করলেই চলবে।
৪. removevirus.bat এই নাম দিয়ে ফাইলটি সেভ করুন।
৫. এবার ফাইলটি বন্ধ করে ডাবল ক্লিক করে রান করুন।
৬. এবার দেখবেন আপনার শর্টকাট ভাইরাস ফাইল-ফোল্ডারগুলো সব স্বাভাবিক হয়ে গেছে। এখন সব ডিলিট করে দিন।

এছাড়া নিচের কৌশলও নিতে পারেন:

আক্রান্ত কম্পিউটার ভাইরাসমুক্ত করতে
১. কী বোর্ডের CTRL+SHIFT+ESC চাপুন।
২. PROCESS ট্যাবে যান।
৩. এখানে wscript.exe ফাইলটি সিলেক্ট করুন।
৪. End Process এ ক্লিক করুন।
৫. এবার আপনার কম্পিউটারের C:/ ড্রাইভে যান।
৬. সার্চ বক্সে wscript লিখে সার্চ করুন।
৭. wscript নামের সব ফাইলগুলো SHIFT+DELETE দিন।
৮. যেই ফাইলগুলো ডিলিট হচ্ছে না ওইগুলো স্কিপ করে দিন।
৯. এখন RUN এ যান।
১০. wscript.exe লিখে ENTER চাপুন।
১১. Stop script after specified number of seconds: এ --- দিয়ে APPLY করুন।

ব্যাস, আপনার কম্পিউটার শর্টকাট ভাইরাসমুক্ত। এবার পেনড্রাইভের শর্টকাট ভাইরাসও আর আপনার কম্পিউটারে ডুকবে না।

প্রধানমন্ত্রীর তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা সজীব ওয়াজেদ জয় বলেছেন, ২০১৬ সালের মধ্যে ফোর-জি নিলাম হবে। বর্তমান সরকারের আমলেই এটি বাস্তবায়ন করা হবে। 

বৃহস্পতিবার (৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি) রাজধানীর আগারগাঁও বাংলাদেশ কম্পিউটার কাউন্সিল (বিসিসি) মিলনায়তনে কর্মকর্তাদের মধ্যে ২৫ হাজার ট্যাব বিতরণ কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধনকালে এসব কথা বলেন তিনি। 

সজীব ওয়াজেদ জয় বলেন, সরকার ২০০০ কম্পিউটার ল্যাব প্রতিষ্ঠা করবে। দেশের প্রতিটি মানুষকে যেন সরকারি সেবা পেতে কষ্ট না হয় সেজন্যই কাজ করা হচ্ছে। সরকারি সেবা যতো ডিজিটালাইজড হবে ততো দুর্নীতি কমে আসবে। 

ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ বাস্তবায়নের কাজেও আমরা প্রায় সফল হয়েছি বলেও উল্লেখ করেন তিনি। 

জয় বলেন, ছয় বছর আগে ডিজিটাল বলে কিছু ছিল না। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশের কারণেই বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন পুরস্কার আমরা পেয়েছি। দুই লাখ সরকারি ডাটা রয়েছে। এখন তাই সাইবার সিকিউরিটির ওপর সবার আগে গুরুত্ব দিতে চাই। তাহলে দেশ সব সময় এগোতে থাকবে। আর নাহলে এগুলোকে রক্ষা করা যাবে না। 

ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ বাংলাদেশ বাস্তবায়নের অংশ হিসেবে দেশের ২৫ হাজার সরকারি কর্মকর্তাকে ট্যাব দেওয়া হচ্ছে। এর মধ্যে বৃহস্পতিবার ১৮ হাজার ট্যাব বিতরণ করা হয়।   

বক্তব্য শেষে সরকারি কর্মকর্তাদের হাতে ট্যাব তুলে দিয়ে এ বিতরণ কর্মসূচির উদ্বোধন করেন সজীব ওয়াজেদ জয়। 

এরপর সজীব ওয়াজেদ গোপালগঞ্জের টুঙ্গিপাড়া ও রংপুরের পীরগঞ্জ উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা ও আওয়ামী লীগের নেতাদের সঙ্গে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে কথা বলেন। 

এ সময় তিনি বলেন, জীবনের পরিবর্তন আনার জন্যই এগুলো করা হচ্ছে। এসব ট্যাব মানুষের জন্য ব্যবহার করবেন। 

তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি সচিব শ্যাম সুন্দর সিকদার, বাংলাদেশ টেলিযোগাযোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ কমিশনের (বিটিআরসি) এর চেয়ারম্যান সুনীল কান্তি বোস এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন।   

কর্মকর্তাদের হাতে হুয়াওয়ে ব্র্যান্ডের মিডিয়া প্যাড দেওয়া হচ্ছে। এর স্ক্রিনের আকার ১০.১ ইঞ্চি। এর অপারেটিং সিস্টেম হলো অ্যান্ড্রয়েড (আইসক্রিম স্যান্ডউইচ)। এটিকে জেলিবিন ৪.১-এ আপগ্রেড করা যাবে। এতে আরো রয়েছে এক গিগা র‌্যাম, ৩.১৫ মেগাপিক্সেল ক্যামেরা, সেলফি তোলার জন্য ভিজিএ ক্যামেরা এবং কোয়াডকোর ১.২ গিগাহার্টজ প্রসেসর।

আগামী বৃহস্পতিবার ২৫ হাজার সরকারি কর্মকর্তাকে আনুষ্ঠানিক ট্যাব দেওয়া হচ্ছে। 

সজীব ওয়াজেদ জয় সারাদেশের সরকারি কর্মকর্তাদের হাতে ট্যাব বিতরণ কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধন করবেন ।

পাবলিক লাইব্রেরির ডিজিটাল সংস্করণ উদ্বোধন

পাবলিক লাইব্রেরি এখন অনলাইনে। রোববার অমর একুশে বইমেলায় অ্যাকসেস টু ইনফরমেশনের (এটুআই) ই-তথ্যকেন্দ্র থেকে পাবলিক লাইব্রেরির ডিজিটাল সংস্করণ উদ্বোধন করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।

ইউএনডিপি এবং ইউএসএইড এর কারিগরি সহায়তায় এটুআই এ পাবলিক লাইব্রেরির এই ডিজিটাল সংস্করণ বাস্তবায়িত করেছে।

পাবলিক লাইব্রেরির ডিজিটাল সংস্করণের মাধ্যমে এখন অনলাইনেই গ্রন্থাগারে কি বই রয়েছে, এর প্রকাশক ও প্রকাশকাল সম্পর্কিত তথ্যাদি জানা যাবে।

এছাড়া নতুন বই, সর্বাধিক পঠিত বই, ই-বুক এবং জনপ্রিয় বইয়ের তালিকা পাওয়া যাবে।

এটুআই জানায়, এই উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে জনগণ সহজেই গণগ্রন্থাগার অধিদপ্তরেরর যাবতীয় সেবা সম্পর্কে জানতে পারবে। এছাড়া এখানে রয়েছে আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ের লাইব্রেরী এবং এর সহযোগি প্রতিষ্ঠানের লিংকসমূহ।

এতে স্বত্তাধিকার সংরক্ষণের বাইরে মোট ১১৭৮ টি ই-বুক যা অনলাইনে যে কোন পাঠক যে কোন স্থান থেকে পড়তে বা সংরক্ষণ করতে পারবেন ।

Bangladesh will be second in GDP growth by 2019 Using data published by IMF, a CNN report states that Bangladesh will record the second highest GDP growth in the world in 2019 with 7%. In 2014, Bangladesh ranked 4th with 6% while China topped the list with 7.5%. Unlike most of the other top growing economies, Bangladesh is projected to maintain a steady growth of over 6% rising to 6.5% in 2015 and then holding it at 7% between 2017 and 2019.

ICC lauds Bangladesh’s commitment to the court and rule of law The International Criminal Court (ICC) has “highly appreciated” Bangladesh's commitment to the court as well as to the concept of rule of law. ICC President Sang Hyun Song and Prosecutor of the ICC Fatou Besouda expressed the sentiments when Bangladesh’s Law Minister Anisul Huq met them at their offices recently. ICC is a permanent court established to try the most serious international crimes.

Bangladesh aims to be world’s ‘first solar nation’ 3.5 million households in Bangladesh, which is about 10% of the country's total, had installed solar home systems (SHS) by the end of 2014. With one of the fastest SHS installation rates in the world, the government now aims to generate 220 MW of electricity for around 6 million households by 2017, empower 75 million Bangladeshis through renewable energy by 2020, and become the world’s “first solar nation”.

China to fund national data center and procurement of six ships Government has approved proposals for procuring six new ships for Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) and setting up a national data center with concessional loans worth US$ 338 million from China. Of the six ships, three are oil tankers and three bulk carriers. The data center will be a high performance, well-structured and well-protected four-tiered one, and will be the sixth largest in the world.

Human costs of BNP-Jamaat violence: 38 killed, 1091 injured so far Since 4th January 2015, BNP-Jamaat’s violence in the name of politics has so far: Killed 38 people; injured 1091 others; and destroyed around 800 vehicles. Such violent politics is causing extreme discontent among members of the public. Civil society members, doctors and business leaders have all protested against such destructive politics either through human-chains or organized demonstrations.

Parliament passes legislation for metro rail project Bangladesh has moved one step closer to having its own high-speed metro rail. On Monday, Parliament passed the Metro Rail Act 2015, which provides the legislative framework for easing traffic congestion and providing fast and improved public transport services through high-speed rail. In a related development, the first tender for the construction of the 20km metro rail route will be invited on January 31.

Planning and implementing several mega communications projects Government plans to upgrade all highways into four-lane ones and connect them with the Padma Bridge. A project worth US$ 2.8 billion has been undertaken to end traffic congestion in Dhaka by building a new flyover and a 140 meters long underpass. Process for constructing a new 80 km long elevated expressway has also started. Construction of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project would begin this December.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

Poverty rate keep decreasing, life expectancy getting longer Under the Awami League government people are living longer and more prosperous lives. According to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), at the end of 2014, the poverty rate of Bangladesh stood at 24.7%, compared to 31.5% 2010. By the same token, people’s life expectancy has also risen in recent times. At the end of 2013, average life expectancy was 70.1 years, up from 69 years in 2011.

World Bank to provide US$ 775 million for two development projects The World Bank will provide Bangladesh with US$ 775 million for two development projects, one for improving quality of primary education and another for boosting disaster preparedness through the construction of multi-purpose disaster shelters. The WB will provide US$ 400 million for the 3rd Primary Education Development Programme and US$ 375 million for the Multipurpose Disaster Shelter Project.

Bangladesh leading in hygienic sanitation usage in South Asia The hygienic sanitation usage rate in Bangladesh has increased significantly over the last decade to 97% from just 33% in 2003. The number of people practicing open defecation has also decreased significantly as a result, currently at just 3% of the population. The figures were disclosed at the 7th inter-country meeting of the South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN) held in Dhaka this week.

Bangladesh joins GPE to boost quality of education Bangladesh has become the 60th developing country partner of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) to make its pre-primary and primary education system efficient, inclusive and equitable by delivering child-friendly learning. As a GPE member country, Bangladesh is now eligible to apply for a Program Implementation Grant in the amount of up to US$100 million over three years.

Bangladesh improves rankings for logistics and economic freedom According to the “Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index 2015” released recently, Bangladesh climbed three spots up to 28th in 2015 among the world’s 45 leading emerging markets. Bangladesh scored 4.56 points, up from 4.45 points in 2014 due to steady growth and social indicators improvement. In a related development, Bangladesh has also improved its ranking for economic freedom.

AL MP elected Vice-President of IPU’s Human Rights Committee Awami League MP ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury has been elected Vice-President of Committee on Human Rights of Parliamentarians of Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU). He was elected in the 146th session of the committee for July 2018 tenure. Currently, another AL MP Saber H Chowdhury is the President of IPU, the international organization for parliaments and parliamentarians from around the world.

Welsh businessmen keen to improve ties with Bangladesh Business people from Wales, UK are interested to collaborate with Bangladeshi enterprises in a number of areas, including transfer of knowledge and skills through business relationships. The views were expressed by a 25-member high-level Welsh business delegation that visited Bangladesh this week to drive forward business relations between the two countries.

US$ 21.5 million leather plant in Mongla EPZ A China-Bangladesh JV company has built a US$ 21.5 million leather and footwear plant at Mongla Export Processing Zone (EPZ). The plant represents the biggest investment proposal in the EPZ, and starts operation in March. It will have an annual production capacity of five million square feet of finished leather, 200,000 pieces of bags and 100,000 pairs of shoes. It will create jobs for 3,162 Bangladeshi nationals.

Digital World: Country’s largest ICT expo begins in February The 4th installment of the country’s largest ICT expo and fair, Digital World 2015, will be held in Dhaka from February 9-12. Organized jointly by the ICT Division and BASIS, the event will include programmes like B2B matchmaking sessions, seminars, workshops, IT career fair, soft expo, e-governance expo, mobile innovation expo, e-commerce, BPO events and separate forums for women and children.

ICT for empowering farmers, boosting agriculture A multilateral nationwide initiative titled: “Smart Farmer: Smart Future” is being implemented to empower farmers through using ICT enabled extension and market linkage services of e-Krishok. The objectives of the campaign are to engage youth farmers and agri-businesses in using ICT services and building awareness on mobile and Internet based advisory services on extension and market linkages.
